About this role

Job Purpose

To solve business problems For Managing the Core Oracle databases it’s Uptime , Compliance, Periodic maintenance , Optimisation and Improves Database performance to meet user needs for Bajaj FinServ Core Applications

Duties And Responsibilities

  •  Database Design and Development: Ensuring that database services are designed and built with high availability, performance, and resiliency.
  •  System Architecture: Collaborating with other engineering teams to architect and implement database platforms in a distributed cloud environment.
  •  Performance Optimization: Continuously improving database performance and ensuring maximum availability.
  •  High Availability Solutions: Implementing high availability and replication technologies like Data Guard and GoldenGate.
  •  Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Handling production operations and troubleshooting complex issues.
  •  Scripting and Automation: Developing scripts and automation tools to enhance database operations.
  •  Security and Compliance: Ensuring that databases comply with security standards and regulations.


Key Decisions / Dimensions

  •   Technology Stack: Maintenance schedule, Optimisation approach , Upgrade and Migrate approach and frequency
  •  Code Quality: Automation implementation , using customisation scripts


 3. Security: Implementing authentication, authorization, and data protection measures

 4. Development & Deployment: managing version control, and optimizing performance

 5. Collaboration: Selecting tools for communication and project management and maintaining documentation

 6. Product Evolution: Prioritizing feature development and managing technical debt

 7. Mentorship: Guiding junior developers and promoting knowledge sharing

Major Challenges

  • Communication and Collaboration:


 

  •  Ensuring seamless communication across diverse teams is vital, particularly in remote setups, using tools and practices that promote clear information flow and mutual understanding
  •  Quality:


 

  •  Maintaining high code quality and thorough testing is critical. SDE should implement CI/CD practices, ensure comprehensive test coverage, and address technical debt proactively, balancing the need for rapid delivery with long-term maintainability and reliability of the software


 3. Adaptability To Change

To succeed latest market trends and technological advances, SDE must adopt agile methods and quick response to evolving demands

Required Qualifications And Experience

Qualifications: Graduate or post- graduate in computer science and engineering

Work Experience: 3 - 4 years

Required Skills

  •  Provide 24x7 support for mission critical production systems
  •  Excellent written and verbal communication
  •  Oracle Database Installation/Configuration, monitoring, managing, and maintaining databases
  •  Experience of DB Backup/Restoration and Disaster Recovery methods
  •  Implementing replication solutions such as using ODG / ADG , configuring OEM Servers
  •  SQL query tuning hands-on experience
  •  Implementation various database automation techniques to reduce operational overhead.
  •  Experience in Management of Oracle RAC , Database Security Features – Encryption , Redaction
  •  Should have good documentation skills
