Global Functions Technology (GFT) is a diverse organization comprised of more than 15,000 talented professionals with some of the brightest minds – all working collectively to realize Citi’s Vision of growth and economic progress. As a group, we partner with the Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Human Resources teams to drive the delivery of innovative technology solutions using common data, data assessment, and platforms. Our technology operates in real-time environments, capturing and managing market, transaction, and accounting data, as well as the data from millions of customers daily. Our solutions cover all products and geographies in which Citi does business. We are the backbone for reporting across the bank, satisfying our regulatory obligations, enabling our businesses to be nimbler and helping to safeguard customer assets through highly effective controls.

GFT is accountable for providing and delivering end-to-end design, application development and advocates infrastructure management to the Global Functions across Citi’s lines of business and regions. As part of Citi’s broad transformation strategy, GFT is presently undergoing a large-scale, multi-year Agile transformation throughout our 16k-person organization. Along with that transformation, we will need proven, sound, and solid software engineers, agile practitioners, and technical team managers to drive the success of our nascent agile teams.

Resource Management Organization ( RMO) provide strategic sourcing and procurement services across all products, services and commodity categories, to minimize total cost of ownership to Citi, manage supplier risk, enhance governance of supplier performance and productivity, optimize Citi’s site resource strategy through standard practices and invest in our talent.

The Role

We are looking for Sr software developer who are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. This role will be responsible for writing code, pairing with other developers as appropriate, decomposing acceptance criteria to understand team backlog deliverables, complexities, and risk, while working as a strong contributor on an agile team. Should be able to lead the team as well.

From a technical standpoint, the Software Engineer has full-stack coding and implementation responsibilities and adheres to best practice principles, including modern cloud-based software development, agile and scrum, code quality, and tool usage. The Software Engineer works to understand and influence software architecture, while contributing to Citi’s and GFT’s technical user base.

Here is what we are looking for:

Post education experience: 9-12 years

Leadership: Should be able to act as an individual contributor, mentor the junior members of the team as well as lead a team.

Interpersonal skills: Great Communicator, Collaborative mind set, Self-learner and focus on delivery, takes ownership, problem solver, passion for technology and innovation, inclined to mentor and guide juniors.

Must have technical skills:

Languages: Proficient in Java/J2EE, Strong Hands on in JavaScript/HTML/CSS, JSP & Webservices. Hands on in modern JS framework Angular 9+. Knowledge in EXT-JS is added advantage.

OO Paradigm: OO concepts, Exception Handling, Collections, DS and Algo, Memory mgmt., threading

Functional Programming: Pure functions, persistent data structures, alternatives to loops, side effects

Agile: Exposure to Agile delivery - Scrum/Kanban, Hands on experience of JIRA

Others: Spring framework, Microservices with Spring Boot, Intermediate understanding of SOAP/RESTful services, Intermediate understanding of SQLDBs like Oracle, MySQL or NoSQL DBs like Mongo DB, SQL Language, Junit testing, Sonar overview, good exposure to Unix, Basics of messaging services. Ability to mitigate Vulnerability findings and proficiency in OWASP is required. Responsible for developing secure Webservices and implementing SSO for on-prem as well as SaaS applications

Preferred technical skills:

Exposure to multiple languages: Language agnostic across Java, Python, Node JS

Object Oriented: Exposure to advanced topics like JVM monitoring, performance.

Containerization: Hands on in at least one containerization platform like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift

Cloud: Knowledge in Serverless Technologies, understand of infrastructure as code, Security, Observability and Monitoring on Cloud like Kibana, ELK.

DevOps: Hands on with Dev Ops concepts, Exposure to CICD Pipeline technologies like Sonar, Jenkins, RLM.GIT Version control management.

Others: Basics of Job scheduler like Autosys, Certification on any of the above topics, Basics of Entitlement management Experience with any of the following: API Management tools, event-driven design, and architecture (i.e., Kafka, Spark Flink, etc.), or Microservices frameworks

Responsibilities:

Apply depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with stakeholders on a regular basis.
Develop and engineer solutions within an Agile software delivery team, working to collaboratively deliver sprint goals, write code, and participate in the broader Citi technical community and team-level Agile and Scrum processes.
Keen participation in engineering best practices – Unit testing, automation, peer review
Contribute to the design, documentation, and development of world-class enterprise applications leveraging the latest technologies and software design patterns.
Leverage technical knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues, as necessary.
Follow and contribute to defining technical and team standards.
Collaborate technical leadership to achieve established goals, in line with our broader technical strategy.

Qualifications:

9-12 years of relevant experience
Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
