Release Manager

About this role

• Oversee Release Management: Manage the end-to-end release management process, ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of software releases.
• Release Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to define release scope, objectives, and timelines, ensuring alignment with business goals and priorities.
• Release Coordination: Coordinate and schedule release activities, including environment setup, code branching, build deployments, testing, and go-live activities.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to releases, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure contingency plans are in place.
• Communication and Stakeholder Management: Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, including development teams, project managers, business owners, and customers, to provide visibility and updates on release progress.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define and execute release testing strategies, ensuring the integrity and quality of software releases.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in the release management lifecycle, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Documentation: Create and maintain release documentation, including release plans, deployment guides, release notes, and post-release reports.
• Change Management: Align with change management processes, ensuring proper documentation, impact analysis, and approval of changes before they are included in a release.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and support to the release team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, and ensuring adherence to release management best practices.
