About this role
Your new role - exciting and future-oriented:- Overall mechanical analysis (including stress analysis) and calculation of steam turbine components (rotating and stationary), Rotordynamics analysis and evaluation of rotor trains.
- Lateral, torsional analyses of rotor trains, calculating natural frequencies, mode shapes, vibration levels and subsequent risks.
- Strong theoretical fundamentals in Mechanics, Rotordynamics and Vibrations – this will be the key assessment point.
- Static, transient, linear, nonlinear, fatigue (LCF/HCF), fracture mechanics, thermal & structural analyses of steam turbine components as per requirements.
- Verification of Finite Element Analysis results using hand calculations and other analytical methods.
- Development and release of product definition documents for field implementation including graphics, bill of materials, and manufacturing process requirements.
- Support to customers and field service engineering during planned or forced outages, conducting root cause investigations, and performing lifetime extension studies.
- The job involves driving steam turbine service and repair solutions, operational troubleshooting, managing reviews, consulting with functional experts, and incorporating feedback from the global engineering network.
- The job may require the ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in engineering or related technical field from a reputed college.
- 5 to 8 years of engineering experience in Rotordynamics Analysis, Bearing Analysis, Vibration Analysis and Finite Element Analysis for steam turbine components.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM) software, preferably ABAQUS or ANSYS, is desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance or direction is essential.
- Ability to interface directly with customer, field, factory personnel and management.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written and listening), a strong sense of teamwork and customer focus.
- Ability to make quick, informed decisions on a regular basis.
- Ability to manage multiple field issues / projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Steam Turbine, Gas turbine, Pumps or any rotating equipment is considered an added advantage.
