Summary: As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements using COBOL. Your typical day will involve working with the development team, analyzing business requirements, and developing solutions to meet those requirements. Roles & Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain COBOL-based applications to meet business requirements. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements. - Perform code reviews and ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards. - Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications and provide timely resolutions. - Stay updated with the latest advancements in COBOL and related technologies and integrate innovative approaches for sustained competitive advantage. Professional & Technical Skills: - Proficiency in COBOL. - Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software engineering principles. - Experience with relational databases and SQL. - Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN. - Experience with debugging and troubleshooting tools. - Experience with agile development methodologies.
