What is the AMA?
The Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) established by Vikram Sarabhai, the father of Indian Space Program in 1956, has been providing an active and regular forum for professionals in Ahmedabad, Gujarat through lectures and discussion meetings, management development programmes, industry visits and various publications.
A complete learning avenue for furthering Member’s knowledge and skills in professional management is being provided. Comprising of 2700 Individual and 380 Corporate Members, AMA conducts annually over 600 Management Development programmes and 120 open lecture programmes besides a large number of publications in Management and social services.
What is the Goal of AMA?
The AMA is focused in its objective of Continuing Education in various sectors since its inception. Current challenges in all sectors for hiring and training is very evident. Companies want skill based and goal oriented professionals , where as freshers or little senior professionals are focusing on financial and position wise growth assurance and based on that they would like to perform or continue in the same organisation for more then 3 years!
How should Corporate Leaders ensure sustainable business growth across India Today?
Companies have high aspirations of growth and development and sometimes lack the ground reality of its possibility and scope. Without studying the current market and business conditions it is not possible to set unachievable goals for a team. If such high targets are set, employees at senior level would try to find out short cuts to achieve these goals and the outcome will not be as desired. This will put pressure on their employers and affect the brand name in the industry. There is a need to assist Leadership to understand the importance of effective supervision, communication and strategic thinking in order to success in the competitive market.
AMA offers the Management Training Development Programmes that provides a continuing educational avenue for Members, Employees of Member Organizations, Entrepreneurs and Students. These Programmes focuses on current changes happening in Economy; Financial Sector; Behavioural Science; Imparting Management Skills etc. Introduction to Lean Management System, Productivity, People Management, Update on Tax and Statutory Laws etc. is developed and offered through MDP’s. Also programmes are developed based on popular books on management. Special emphasis has been given for selection of expert faculty and program design. Over 500 programmes are offered in a year.
What kind of partnerships does AMA promote?
AMA partners with HR and Business Experts across India to share expereinces and opinions on how business and entrepreneurs can succeed in the Industry. On 7 October 2022 Monuranjan Borgohain, CEO e2eHiring, was invited to speak at the AMA on the multiple challenges faced by HR Heads across several organisations today. He explained how to create an employee friendly environment that ensures flexibility, equity and diversity. He also explained the need for HR to constantly encourage employees both old and new and upskill them in order to retain the best talent. Unmesh Dixit is a highly innovative, relation-oriented, strong public relations with demonstrated success in increasing value addition work, achieving cost reductions and improving employee satisfaction in operations and large diverse organisations. Expertise in Education PR, HR, Management and implementation of complex corporate initiatives and successful organizational integration.
He is currently Executive Director at Ahmedabad Management Association, he has been an instrumental for the Image building and growth of the AMA since January 2022. He is managing and observing management development programs, post graduate diploma programs, open lectures and in-company management programs for various organizations.
He was associated as CEO at Bhagwat Vidyapeeth, Sola, Ahmedabad & OSD-Kalorex Group. He is highly competent professional worked with Zydus Cadila as a Corporate Human Resource Manager, Most Stable and Able PR Manager for Kalorex Foundation where he worked for twelve years almost and handled eight different location schools and resolved most complex problems in the history of entire institute.
He was also actively associated as VICE PRESIDENT for Public Relation Society of India (PRSI, Ahmedabad Chapter), Trustee- Nigamashram trust , Honorary Adviser to Dada Bhagwan Trust Hostel and Shree Vallabh Education Trust
